Method of Operation:
Students learn by working together with the instructor and on their own as well. Reading materials will be provided- books and magazines. It takes the cooperation of all to make even a little homestead like this one work. For everything there is a season, and for this reason, not all skills will be taught on a year-round basis. I can pass on the information at any time, but to get the hands on experience, you must be here during the proper season for the activity. (I can't adequately teach gardening in the winter, nor can the wood working skills be properly and fully demonstrated during the summer, although some activities are year-round.)
All students expected to provide an average of four hours of labor daily to help offset the costs of operating the school. Such work will include: log-peeling, cabin-building, firewood splitting, gardening, trail maintenance, shake-splitting, earth-moving, etc. This work will be assigned by the instructor. Enrollment will be limited to no more than four students at any one time, so that adequate time may be devoted to the education of each individual.
