Climate and weather information:

Precipitation: Approximately 26 inches per year on average.

Low 7 22 27 32 30 23 -9 -30 -35 -33 -32 -19

In general, Spring weather is dry and sunny and Fall is cloudy and damp, however, as our world climate is shifting, nothing can be predicted with any accuracy. Recent summers have been warmer and drier than in the past, and last winter was very mild, with only a few days of below 0ºF weather. Snow accumulation at this elevation is usually no more than three to three and a half feet by the end of February. First snowfall is expected around Halloween, but snow does not start to accumulate until December, usually, and is largely melted by the end of April. There are areas within a 100-mile radius which do get much more snow and rain than we do here in the Ningunsaw Valley.

There are permanent Glaciers and snow patches on almost all of the mountains surrounding the school.
